PCHAS is Here to Help

Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services responds with caring, expert staff and proven strategies to help children and families who desperately need the level of care and support we provide.  While the agency began by providing homes for orphaned children, today we address both the simple and very complex needs of children and families with services focused on the immediate crises children and families face, and equally important, their underlying causes.

Children come to us burdened with broken dreams and spirits, and sometimes broken bodies.  Some are severely emotionally disturbed or victims of abuse, while others just need gentle, consistent guidance in learning how to heal and process stresses of daily life.

Children in the Residential Treatment, Transitional Living, and Foster Care Case Management  programs are wards of the state and referred to us by placing agencies throughout Missouri.  Young people in our programs come from various types of families and are often the victims of abuse, neglect, abandonment and other tragedies. Our newest program, Medical Case Management, addresses the physical health of children in foster care, who, when moving from home to home, may miss medical, dental or vision exams.

Residential Treatment services are provided at our Farmington, Missouri location. Here, the priority is to heal children’s lives, provide safety, structure and therapy and show them a brighter future.

Children in St. Louis County may take advantage of our Mentoring Program and our Family Solutions for Kids Program at no charge. These services are funded by St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund. We also operate the mentoring program in Boone County.

Six core programs make up our continuum of care:
