Charity Navigator

When you make a gift to PCHAS of Missouri 89% of your donation goes directly to support a child or family in need; the remainder is applied to administrative and fundraising expenses. Not many charities can claim make this claim.

Not many charities can claim a three-star ranking from Charity Navigator, either, but PCHAS can. Charity Navigator is an independent, reputable, non-profit organization that evaluates the financial health, transparency and accountability of 6,000 of America’s largest charities. It scores each organization based on these criteria and provides the results to the public.  A rating of four stars is the highest rating the organization bestows; it is awarded to less than one-third of the charities that Charity Navigator evaluates each year.

Not all charity organizations achieve the same level of transparency or accountability. CNN partnered with the Tampa Bay Times and the Center for Investigative Reporting to conduct a year-long investigation of thousands of charities in America. Learn about their findings.

PCHAS of Missouri was known as Children’s Foundation of Mid-America (CFMA) until January 2013 when it joined forces with Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services of Texas and Louisiana. The two agencies have forged strong ties and formed a network that may eventually include additional child service agencies. Charity Navigator has not yet updated its profile for CFMA.
